Lea Michele Confirms Justin Timberlake Episode!

The singer/actor was previously rumored to be in talks to star as glee club teacher Will Schuester's (Matthew Morrison) younger brother.

"I think they are saving Justin Timberlake for the Super Bowl episode," she told the Hollywood Reporter.

"They have to be, because he is so perfect for our show. He has to be on it! When I met Jessica Biel, like a loser, I asked her to tell Justin to come on our show. She was a little taken aback and said, 'Um, OK. I'll tell him'."

She added: "If not Justin, I would hope it would be the sequel to the Madonna episode. She has so many more amazing songs we didn't even touch."

Michele recently claimed that the upcoming Britney Spears episode of Glee is the biggest yet.

Glee returns on September 21 to Fox.

Lea Michele Loves Her 'Jewish Nose'

Although Lea Michele may be channeling Britney Spears for an upcoming episode of 'Glee,' she says she's never felt pressure to look like the pop princess.

In a recent interview, the brunette beauty credits being raised by an Italian mom and Jewish dad with boosting her body confidence.

"I come from a big Italian family and the pressure is not really anything I've been raised to feel," Michele, 23, says, according to an Us Weekly report.

"I've always been proud of my body, my Jewish nose and all of that. Hollywood's Hollywood, but that's not going to change."



Still, the Broadway-trained star admits she was somewhat surprised to land a role on the hit Fox series. "I never really thought there would be a place on television for me," Michele, who plays spoiled diva Rachel Berry on 'Glee,' told the Daily News last year.

"I have a very specific look. I'm Jewish. I'm Italian."

Growing up, the Bronx-born actress noticed that there weren't many girls on TV who looked like her. But that didn't make Michele any less proud of her appearance -- instead, she drew inspiration from another New York native who started out on the stage and went on to become a movie and music superstar.

"I remember looking up to Barbara Streisand, and thinking, 'Finally, someone who has a Jewish nose, who didn't get a nose job,'" says Michele, who hopes that 'Glee' fans feel the same way whenever they see her on screen.

"If that is inspiring and can give young girls a sense of confidence, that's great."

'Glee:' Terri's redemption 'is a long road'

Jessalyn Gilsig has dropped hints about what is to come for her Glee character Terri.

Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, the actress admitted that Terri is still not a likeable character.

"It's a long road, the redemption of Terri," she said. "When the season starts... [Will and Terri are] divorced, and she's collecting spousal support. I don't think you're going to love her day one, but, you know, we're building."

Gilsig revealed that Terri will begin to build a life "independent of Will", adding: "Hopefully [it] will sort of free her up from all that panic."

Gilsig also claimed that some people can relate to her character, saying: "I think there will always be people who love Terri and those are the people who understand that Terri might not be nice, but she's right. I don't think you're ever going to want to curl up with her. She's never going to be Emma [Jayma Mays].

"That's why she's fun. She's totally inappropriate. I feel like I know so many girls like Terri. I just feel like I know those people who just go after what they want and they're completely unapologetic about it. And at the same time there's this sort of deep, really weird insecurity where if they could just get honest and express themselves, things wouldn't have to be as complicated as they are. But because they can't get honest about what they need, they just make a mess of things. Maybe I'm talking about myself!"

Glee’s executive producer welcomes Justin Bieber to appear on Glee.

“Glee’s” executive producer Ryan Murphy has issued Justin Bieber an open invitation to stop by McKinley High for a cameo.

Murphy tells Access Hollywood: “I think he’s so phenomenally talented and I think he’s great. So, yes, if he was interested I would make that happen.”

However, still no response from Justin Bieber.

Mark Salling and Selena Gomez -- Hot New Hollywood Hookup?

Glee's Mark Salling is poised to climb the music charts with the release of a hot debut single and it looks like he could be doing it with a new woman on his arm, RadarOnline.com has learned.

Friends of actress and singer-songwriter Selena Gomez tell us the couple "may be an item" after striking quite the rapport at the 2010 Teen Choice Awards.

"They were texting during the awards," dishes one pal, "even though Selena was front row and Mark was backstage co-hosting.

"Every time Mark came up on stage, she was beaming ear to ear."

But don't jump to conclusions yet, folks.

We're told a very-single-looking Mark ditched the Teen Choice after party to hit up top restaurant Katsuya in Hollywood with Cory Monteith and Chord Overstreet, the newest cast member of Glee.

It's been a big few days for the Glee alum, 27, who announced plans to release first solo album, Pipe Dreams, this fall.

His first track, Higher Power, debuted to rave reviews on Ryan Seacrest's radio show this morning.

But rest assured: Salling isn't leaving Glee club altogether... the next series Of Glee premieres September 21, 2010 on FOX.

Jane Lynch teases new 'Glee' enemy

Jane Lynch has revealed that her Glee character Sue Sylvester will have a new enemy in the second season.

Speaking to Fancast, the actress explained that Sue will be unhappy with the arrival of a football coach, played by Dot Jones.

She added that Sue will team up with Will (Matthew Morrison) in an attempt to bring down Jones's character.

"There's a new coach in town," Lynch said. "Our football coach is now a big 6ft4in female and I get Will [Matthew Morrison] to come with me to destroy her because of course she's taking our budget away, so I give her some [dog] poop cookies. I say, 'Here are some cookies, welcome aboard'."

The second season of Glee premieres on September 21 on Fox.

You’ve been very open about your strong religious beliefs and identifying as a Christian while simultaneously advocating for gay rights. Does the negative connotation associated with Christianity upset you?
Oh, I hate it!! I hate it, because being a Christian to me is such an awesome thing. And I hate that there have been those before me who have turned it into an ugly word. Of course it can sometimes be connected with very conservative, right wing, intolerant people, and that’s not the way Jesus was. So, that bums me out that Christianity is linked to such a negative feeling, because I honestly think if Jesus were alive today he probably wouldn’t be in churches. He’d be with the sick and the poor and the people who are outcasts and people who feel unloved and the people who are told that they are not “OK.” If I had to read in the Bible that “it’s a sin to be 4’11″ – what would I do? Ya know, I think you are who you are and I don’t think God makes mistakes. I’m hoping that there are a lot more Christians out there who believe like I do and won’t be afraid to say so.

What do you attribute your liberal stance on Christianity to? Was it the specific church you belonged to as a child or your parents’ influence?
I think it came from my parents. They always taught me never to judge anybody, that was my job, and to accept and love people for who they are. I also think it was something I was born with. I know that sounds kind of weird, but I’m not exactly the norm. If you look at me: I have a funny speaking voice, I’m tiny… I’m not exactly what you superficially call a “normal person.” I’m in show-business and you get rejected on a daily basis – no matter who you are or what level you’re at in your career. I just wish that the word “Christianity” would start to change in the minds and hearts of America, even if you don’t believe in it — if you could just respect it. Even if you don’t believe in God or believe in a higher purpose. My Grandma was a great Christian lady and she always used to say, “you read the Bible like you eat the fish – you take the meat that serves you well, but you don’t choke on the bones.”

So is Britney going to be ON Glee?

Sorry, Britney Spears fans, but it's official: There will be no girlie-girl lip action between Miss Spears and Rachel Berry on Glee.

(We were talking about a duet, duh! What did you dirty-minders think we meant?!)

Much to the dismay of her manager's Twitter campaign, it looks like Brit will not be appearing on the Emmy-nominated fave, but there's an upside (depending on how you look at it)...

Glee mastermind Ryan Murphy has confirmed that much-talked about Britney tribute episode will air next season. Hells to the yes, right? Anyone? Bueller?!

"We are writing a Britney Spears episode," Ryan revealed to Entertainment Tonight Thursday, a report that our sources confirm.

So far no details on the gotta-be-sexy, still TBD hour are available—it's way too early for that!—but a TV-lovin' girl can dream, can't she?

We're thinking Rachel seduces Finn with a raunchy rendition of "I'm a Slave 4 U," Kurt further ponders superstardom with a rousing cover of "Lucky," and Quinn and Puck duet on "...Baby One More Time," because, you know, they just had a baby.

Confirmed: 'Glee' Doing Britney Episode

Is Britney Spears next to be "Gleeked" out? ET knows…

While there's no word if the pop princess herself will appear on the hit show, "Glee" creator/writer Ryan Murphy tells ET that the show is currently in the middle of writing a Spears episode.

The hit show, earning 19 Emmy noms Thursday, will also air a big tribute episode after next year's Super Bowl, but Murphy didn't reveal which star it will be based on, only hinting that we were "close" by guessing Michael Jackson.

It's summertime in saltbleached Laguna Beach—and that means surf's up. But it's not just the breakers that are peaking; we're also seeing a resurgence of super-authentic surfwear labels both old and new. Here, Mark Salling from 'Glee' catches a wave

On Glee, Mark Salling plays a high school badass who refers to the glee club as "homo explosion" (and then can't help but join in on the geeked-out fun). This wasn't exactly the kind of music Salling expected to make when he moved from Dallas to Hollywood eight years ago with his acoustic guitar strapped to his back, searching for a record deal. When asked if he'll get to perform any of his original tunes when the Glee kids go on tour this summer—they're playing sold-out shows at Radio City Music Hall, among other venues—he says, laughing, "I think Fox would probably shit a brick over that."

We can't blame the network for wanting to protect its breakout hit, whose mix of power ballads, show tunes, and ironic tween hip-hop has led to a Golden Globe win and serious music-biz sales. (Four and a half million iTunes downloads and counting!) In April, the cast hit the publicity "bifecta," appearing on Oprah and singing for President Obama's Easter party. Yes, the irrepressible show has become visits-to-the-White-House kind of big. And in a cast of misfit characters, Salling, 27, may be the one to watch. His Puck is prime-time cougar bait, a football star turned Neil Diamond crooner who outshines the goody-goodies; think Emilio Estevez in The Breakfast Club, but with a lovely tenor. As for the perks of fame, Salling says he doesn't get recognized nearly as much since he shaved his character's trademark Mohawk. And though he's enjoying things like photo shoots with bikini-clad surf girls (see these pages), unfortunately he doesn't really remember this shoot. "I was right in the middle of one of those cleanse fasts," he says. A cleanse? Sounds like something Puck would call a "homo explosion."

"I wasn't as stoked as my mom was. That's her favorite artist. I used to buy her a Neil Diamond cassette tape every Christmas."

On being 27 and playing a teenager:
"I think the show a little tongue-in-cheek about the fact that we're teenagers. We're not teenagers, and we don't look like it either. But we're also dealing with really adult situations. I think the fact that we're in high school is almost an after thought."

Ausiello: Fox to supersize season two of Glee

In what’s sure to be music to the ears of Gleeks everywhere, Fox is said to be finalizing a deal to amplify Glee’s second season.

“Season 2 will be much bigger and much longer,” series creator Ryan Murphy confirmed to us over the weekend at PaleyFest ‘10. “We are talking about doing 25 episodes as opposed to [the customary] 22.”

Murphy added that he hopes to inject the show’s sophomore season with a “sweet feeling… like I loved it when The Brady Bunch went to Hawaii. I want [New Directions] to go to some competition in New York.”

Change in AI Schedule + How it Affects Glee

If anybody cares which nobody does lately, but if you do that will be a shocker. Here's some switcheroo going on with this weeks of schedule of American Idol that will also effect Glee premiere on April 13th:

This week, with the finalists d down to 16, Idol producers are cutting back the performance shows to 1 hour. Hooray!!! Less blah blah from the judges and bad karaoke singing.

Check out the schedule–note that Wednesday’s Top 8 Guys performance episode begins at 9 pm.

* American Idol Tuesday night – Top 8 Girls – 8/7c pm – 1 hour
* American Idol Wednesday night – Top 8 Guys – 9/8c pm – 1 hour

Sidenote: a re-run of Glee follows the Top 12 Girls performance episode on Tuesday! Yay!!!!

Sidenote #2: The Top 8 Performance show of American Idol season 9 on April 13th will be expanded to 90 minutes. Glee will debut that night at 9:30pm instead of 9pm as reported earlier, and return to its regularly scheduled 9 pm slot the week after.

'Glee' guy Harry Shum heading to the Oscars, White House and on tour

"Glee's" Harry Shum, Jr. may be jokingly called "Other Asian" on the show, but he's not just any generic Asian face in the crowd.

The performer who plays Mike Chang on "Glee" is also a dancer and choreographer known for his work in the iconic iPod silhouette ad campaign, in "Step Up 2: The Streets" and as part of the Legion of Extraordinary Dancers (LXD) crew. In fact, it's this skill that has earned him a ticket to the Oscars.

Shum and Chris Scott are associate co-choreographing an LXD number at the 82nd Annual Academy Awards, taking place on Sunday, March 7 in Hollywood.

"We're finishing up rehearsals, and it's getting to the point where the picture is there," Shum tells Zap2it during a break from shooting "Glee." "We've created something really special, and I can't wait for the world to see it."

LXD has performed on "So You Think You Can Dance," where Shum met judge Adam Shankman, who's also co-producing the Oscars telecast. As Zap2it previously reported, former "So You Think You Can Dance" contestant Legacy will also participate.

"I think you'll be seeing hip-hop in a different way," says Shum about the dance. "I think we sort of accomplished that on 'So You Think You Can Dance' when we did that, but this is on a larger scale, on such a prestigious platform like the Oscars .Yeah [Legacy] is an LXD member. You're going to see a lot of LXD members that you've seen before and a couple more joining."

Unfortunately, Shum won't be on stage with LXD, but he's got the next best thing: A seat in the audience so he can watch his handiwork live.

"I was so surprised and excited. You know, there are only so many seats. It's gonna be awesome," says Shum. "I'm in the process of getting my tux right now. I wanna make sure I look legit."

As for his date for the night, don't expect a "Glee" cast reunion.

"Chris and I are taking the [creator and producer] of LXD," he reveals. "Right now we have our two seats and then two for guests, so we're thinking Jon Chu and Hieu Ho from LXD. Hieu Ho, he's the other guy that makes it happen. It was funny, he was like, 'So does that make me the other, other, other Asian?'"

After the Oscars, Shum will be keeping busy with his "Glee" duties. Besides finishing shooting episodes for the rest of the season, he's heading to the White House to perform for Easter and then hitting four cities around the U.S. for the "Glee" tour that was announced Monday (March 1).

"I think I'm looking forward to New York," says Shum. "I think there's something just magical about New York, especially Radio City Music Hall that has so much history behind it. But actually all the cities, even LA would be fun because you know, being among our peers would be awesome."

And he still can't believe First Lady Michelle Obama's invitation to the "Glee" cast to perform.

"It's amazing how these things keep happening," says Shum with a laugh. "Every week we hear about something new. That reaction was insane. All of us just looking at our phones, seeing the email. [Finding out by email] is the best because everyone gets it at the same time. So if we're around each other and read our email, we look at each other like, 'Oh my God!'

"Glee" returns to finish up its freshman season on Tuesday, April 13 at 9 p.m. ET/PT on FOX.

First Lady Invites 'Glee' To Perform At White House Easter Egg Roll

NBC wouldn't let them perform in the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. But EW is reporting that the cast of Glee has been invited by First Lady Michelle Obama to perform at the annual White House Easter Egg Roll on April 5th. "Glee’s producers did some lickety-split schedule rejiggering in order to honor the request. All in all, not a bad stretch for the Glee club: Glee The Music Volume 1 just debuted at No. 1 on the UK album charts, ahead of the ubiquitous Lady Gaga!," writes Mike Ausiello.
