Katy Perry surprised fans at Taylor Swift's sold out LA concert at the Staples Center last night. The two sang a duet of Perry's hit "Hot N Cold." Swift tweeted later that night: "Surprise guest at Staples Center: @katyperry!! We sang Hot N Cold and jumped up and down a lot. Katy! LA! I will always love you!"

When asked how she feels about the rumor mill linking her to the verbal vomiting, self-gratification-espousing ex of Jennifer Aniston and Jessica "Tootie" Simpson, Swift simply shrugs off the speculation.

"I try not to be a complainer, you know?" she tells Us Weekly, which categorizes her relationship with the 32-year-old crooner, with whom she duets on his latest album, "Battle Studies," as more of a mutually admiring student-teacher-type thing (and we know how well that worked out for Svengali).

"He thinks she's sweet and talented," a Mayer insider tells the mag, "and she sees him as a mentor."

But, observes another spy, "Whenever Taylor sees John, she gets all giddy and her voice quivers."

Stepping out for a special event, Taylor Swift attended “An Unforgettable Evening” at the Beverly Wilshire Four Seasons Hotel on Wednesday night (January 27).

Looking oh-so-sophisticated, the “White Horse” songstress posed with fellow celebrities such as Julianne Hough, Christina Applegate and Faith Hill before heading inside for the EIF’s Women’s Cancer Research Fund benefit.

In related news, Ms Swift is gearing up for an exciting weekend; the annual Grammy Awards take place this Sunday evening and the talented singer is nominated in eight categories.

Both of her CDs, “Taylor Swift” and 2008’s “Fearless,” have sold millions of copies, and she has scored more Top-40 singles than any other female artist in this millennium.

Taylor Swift and John Mayer Collaborate over Dinner

It's not all work for John Mayer, who is in Nashville and slated to film an upcoming episode of CMT's Crossroads with Keith Urban Tuesday.

On Sunday, the rocker stepped out to dinner with Nashville resident – and good friend – Taylor Swift, at hot spot Cabana. The two, who recently recorded "Half of My Heart" for Mayer's latest album Battle Studies, were joined by a group of about 15 friends and sat next to each other throughout the meal. But the gathering was friendly – and not romantic. "It looked like a big group of Nashville friends," a source says of the group.

"They were so nice," the source says of the two singers, who enjoyed their meal at a quiet table away from other diners but were also chatty with restaurant and bar staff.

And Swift is one dedicated diner. According to the source, this was her second visit to Cabana in one week. She stopped in on Jan. 19 with a smaller group of friends and ordered the Blanco pizza with provolone cheese and roasted garlic. – Eileen Finan

Taylor Swift And Taylor Lautner Will Both Attend Wednesday's People's Choice Awards

Just as the world is mourning the end of the greatest teen romance of 2009 (if you're a Team Jacob fan, that is), it was announced that Taylor Swift will attend Wednesday's People's Choice Awards — as in the same ceremony that her former beau, Taylor Lautner already RSVP'ed to as well. Does anyone else sense an awkward run-in in the works?

Swift is up for three awards — Pop Artist, Country Artist and Female Artist — while Lautner is nominated for Favorite Breakout Movie Actor and Favorite Movie and On-Screen Team along with his "New Moon" costars Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson. (Kristen and Rob are also nominated in the Favorite Movie Actress and Actor categories, but there has been no confirmation yet as to whether they will attend the show.)

Kellan Lutz, Ryan Reynolds and Carrie Underwood are also set to appear. The show's host Queen Latifah will be performing, as well as Mary J. Blige and Cobra Starship with Pussycat Doll Nicole Scherzinger.

As much as we're excited to see what the heck Cobra Starship and Nicole have planned (PS where's Leighton Meester?), we're really excited to see what will happen when the Taylors are in the same place now that they've called their romantic relationship off. It should at least be an interesting precursor to what may happen as the two embark on the publicity tour for "Valentine's Day."

Unable to take their relationship long-term, Taylor Swift and Taylor Lautner have decided to pull the plug on their romance after three months of being an item.

Of the split, an insider tells Us magazine, “It wasn’t really developing into anything, and wasn’t going to, so they decided they were better as friends. There was no chemistry, and it felt contrived.”


Apparently, the two Taylors relationship went downhill after Mr Lautner paid Miss Swift a birthday visit in Nashville earlier this month.

“He liked her more than she liked him,” the source tells Us. “He went everywhere he could to see her, but she didn’t travel much to see him.”

Meanwhile, the “Valentine’s Day” co-stars have seemingly found a way to amicably part ways, as the insider tells, “They plan to stay friends.”
