Leona Wants To Be More Like GaGa & Rihanna

Leona Lewis is said to be planning a radical make-over on her sound and image in preparation for her third LP.

The Happy star, who shot to fame on the X Factor reportedly wants to get rid of her good girl image and become more edgy like Lady GaGa and Rihanna.

A source told Now Magazine: "Leona's ready to evolve her look and music. She wants her next album to be totally unexpected and different, like Rihanna's and GaGa's."

The insider added: "They're around her age and make the kind of exciting impact she wants to make. Leona's latest album hasn't done as well as she hoped and feels she has to step it all up."

The 25-year old, who recently appeared at Perez Hilton's birthday party in a GaGa inspired outfit is also said to be already moving towards a more risqué style in recent months by even getting a tattoo on her spine in February.

The source continued: "She's preparing for the new her. She won't be turning into Lindsay Lohan and falling out of clubs, but big changes are ahead."

"She's now talking to producers who aren't afraid to experiment to get them to work on her next album. She's hoping to do some collaborations first."

Lewis's spokesperson added: "Her new style's a natural progression as she loves fashion. Her look's in preparation for her tour, which starts on May 28. She's been hands-on with all the wardrobe design and it'll be edgy, but this tour and her current album are her priority right now."

The Bleeding Love hitmaker is also rumoured to be recording the new Sex And The City 2 theme song along with star of the first movie, Jennifer Hudson.

Rihanna still reaching out to Chris Brown?

Rihanna is still in contact with ex-boyfriend Chis Brown, it has been claimed.

The Rude Boy singer — who was left battered and bruised following a 2009 altercation with Brown — is trying to stay friendly with the Run It hitmaker so she can “truly heal”.

“Ri feels like she won’t truly heal,” a source told American tabloid the National Enquirer.

“Rihanna still talks to Chris. There’s some kind of need there, still.”

The source adds that Rihanna’s current squeeze, Los Angeles Dodgers star Matt Kemp, isn’t happy that the star is talking to her violent former flame.

“Matt has a temper,” said the insider. “He knows people who are friends with Chris, and they’ve told him that if he ever sees Rihanna on the street, he’d better run the other way.”

It was recently reported that Rihanna flew to Arizona to meet Kemp’s family this past weekend.

Rihanna wants to collaborate with Mark Ronson

Rihanna has worked with some pretty big names on her four albums so far, but one producer she'd love to collaborate with is Mark Ronson.

The Barbados-born singer is a huge fan of the super-producer, and loves the way he brings something fresh to all the collaborations he does. Mark has worked with a string of big names including Lily Allen, Amy Winehouse, Robbie Williams and Christina Aguilera, and is famed for the way he updates stars’ sound. Rihanna is keen to team up with him as soon as possible, explaining if it wasn’t for her hectic work schedule she would have done so already. But she revealed that she has been trying to find time to get in the studio with Ronson

When asked if she could collaborate with anyone for her forthcoming fifth album, Rihanna said: "I still would love to work with Mark Ronson. We've been trying to work together for a while - but we'll figure it out one day."

Speaking of that record, the 'Rude Boy' singer said that she wants to make an uptempo album. She also wants to do a duet with Gaga.

Rihanna also claimed the she has "expanded my taste in music, only because now I like to try all types of different music styles.
"I like rock 'n' roll, I love hip hop, and I love reggae, but I'm a pop artist also. But then there are ballads – you know, I just like to play with the different styles of music."

Rihanna is about to embark on a tour, which will see her travelling to the UK and Europe which she is extremely excited about.

Rihanna Wants To Collaborate With GaGa

Rihanna was recently asked if she would ever do a collaboration with Lady Gaga.

"A collaboration between GaGa and myself would be really cool because we do a similar type of music and we both really love fashion, so I’m sure it’ll be a hot video. I would love to collaborate with her."

Ne-Yo: 'Rihanna Assault Was Unacceptable'

R&B singer Ne-Yo is backing a campaign against domestic violence with a new song, "Heroes." Ne-Yo is donating proceeds from the single to the nonprofit organization Respect!, which aims to end abuse and promote respect in relationships.

While introducing the song at a listening party earlier this week, Ne-Yo cited last year's infamous incident between Rihanna and Chris Brown as a reason for teaming up with the organization. "What happened between Chris Brown and Rihanna was unacceptable, and we need to all work together and make sure it never happens again to anyone", he told the crowd.

“It’s unfortunate that it took an incident like that between Chris Brown and Rihanna to occur for this issue to gain awareness. This song is about being a hero to your significant other,” he added. “Coming from a home where there was domestic abuse going on with my mom and my dad, it struck a nerve with me so I wrote this song.”

Rihanna's revealing New Year's outfit

Rihanna's take on 'covering up' for her New Year's Eve show in Abu Dhabi left little to the imagination.

The singer, 21, was having trouble deciding what to wear to ring in the New Year with the added pressure of having to dress conservatively so as not to offend revellers.

Rihanna went with an all-black ensemble, balancing her cut-out striped tights with a glitzy jacket with statement shoulders.

She used a belt to hide most of her midriff though her push-up bra-style top was far from demure.

But party-goers were more interested in her hits and Rihanna didn't leave them disappointed, belting them all out before closing with her signature tune Umbrella.

Chris Brown Still 'Can't Believe' That He Assaulted Rihanna

Information from CNN and MTV.

When Chris Brown sees the infamous leaked photo of ex-girlfriend Rihanna with a bruised and battered face following his early-morning assault on her on February 8, he still can't believe it.

"When I look at it now, it's just like, wow, like, I can't — I can't believe that — that actually happened," Brown told CNN's Larry King in an interview slated to run on Wednesday night, his first since his arrest in February. Brown also claims in the interview that he cannot remember that night's violence, which police said included the then-19-year-old singer punching, biting and choking Rihanna.

Brown told King that he still loves Rihanna and that he's still in love with her, but the judge's stay-away order will keep him apart from the singer for the next five years. Brown pleaded guilty to felony assault on June 22 in a deal that helped him avoid up to five years in jail, but includes five years of probation and six months of community labor service.

Brown said he realizes now that his violent actions have real-world consequences. "They want me to pick up trash, remove graffiti," he said, dubbing the judge's sentence as fair. "I'm a hard worker. It's something I'm willing to do."

Brown's attorney, Mark Geragos, told King that he's grown to love the singer as a "son or a nephew," and that the sentence means Brown has to walk "the straight and narrow for five years." So far, Brown appears to have gotten off to a shaky start, as questions were raised last week on the day of his sentencing about whether his celebratory dancing at a Los Angeles nightclub may have been a violation of his probation. A spokesperson for the Los Angeles District Attorney's office and one for the probation department said on Friday that they have not opened any investigation into whether a probation violation occurred.

Geragos said he has a "high degree of confidence" that Brown will keep his nose clean. "I'll say it now, so that you can play it back if he ever does anything — but a high degree of confidence that he's not going to do anything like this in the future."

Brown's mother, Joyce Hawkins, said she still cannot figure out why her son got so violent that morning. "Chris has never, ever been a violent person, ever," she told King. Brown has talked in the past about the domestic violence he saw at home growing up, and Hawkins told King that her husband was abusive and her son knew about it.

"I used to be scared to go to bed," Brown said. "Nobody taught us how to love one another. Nobody taught us a book on how to — how to control our emotions or our anger. ... I wish I could have changed that night."

Hawkins said Rihanna still calls her "mom" and that the two have spoken and seen each other periodically since the incident. "[I] let her know that I was very, very baffled, what had happened, and apologized for my son, along with [saying], 'I'm so sorry what happened to you,' " said Hawkins, who is not bound by the same protection order as her son. "And I didn't know what — I didn't know what else to say, and I gave her a hug, and she hugged me as well."

Brown said his goal now is to prove that he can be a role model. "That's not who I am as a person, and that's not who I promise I want to be," the singer said, adding that the months of separation from Rihanna have been "difficult" and that it will be hard to see the singer move on to dating other men. "At the end of the day, I mean, we're not together, so, if she's happy, I'm cool."

Still at work on his first album since the incident, Brown said he realizes that as much as he wants to move on, it will not be that easy to do. "I made a mistake," he said. "And it was just something I have to live up and own."
