Matthew Fox and Evangeline Lilly Say They're Done With Television After Lost

Hope you're sitting down for this, Lost fans, 'cause it's just another reason to mourn the end of one of the best TV series of all time.

Matthew Fox says he's done with television. And Evangeline Lilly says she's done with acting.

"I think this will be the last time you see me on TV," Matthew told me at Lost's season premiere party in Honolulu on Saturday. "I'm either going to do the kind of things I want to do in the film world, or maybe I'll just do something else entirely."

After production wraps for good in April, Matthew says he'll be moving to the Pacific Northwest to be closer to his brothers and their families. "I've done almost 300 hours of [TV]," Foxy tells me. "It's been two really great experiences between Party of Five and Lost. I'm ready to take it to the next step and see what I can do in that [film] world."

It was on Lost's awesome banyan tree set on the North Shore that Evangeline told me she is not planning to continue acting after Lost ends.

"Acting is something I appreciate, and I think it's been an amazing experience," Evi tells me. "But I'm not passionate about acting the way you probably should be to call yourself an actor." She adds that she'll probably continue on in the film world in some kind of capacity at some point, but "I just haven't found where that is yet. I don't know if anything has gelled yet. I don't know if it fits."

"I want to have some quiet space," Evangeline says of her post-Lost plans, which will include philanthropic work in Rwanda. "[I want to] drop off the radar a little bit and enjoy a little bit of normalcy again."

So what do you all think of Evangeline and Matthew quitting our TV screens? Sure, they can quit us, but can we quit them?
